TRAVEL WITH A PROTECTED AREAS PASSPORT IN SUMMER
The State Service of Protected Areas invites you to visit all the national and regional parks of Lithuania this summer, collecting the stamps of the parks in your Passport of Protected Areas.
Many people probably know that the National Parks Passport is very popular in the United States of America, where travelers patriotically and actively travel around the protected areas of their country, buying an inexpensive passport and collecting stamps in it.
The Lithuanian passport of Protected Territories is a bit different - it is free, although perhaps not as solid, resembling a leaflet. This passport can be picked up free of charge at national and regional park visitor centers, and you can also print it yourself
At the same time, a competition is announced - whoever visits 5 national and 30 regional parks during this summer and September and collects their stamps in the Passport of Protected Territories will receive a book about the protected territories of Lithuania as a gift. And whoever buys a voluntary visitor's ticket in each park (1 euro) and supports the protected area will also receive a travel backpack as a gift. After collecting all the stamps, contact the National Visitor Center for Protected Areas for prizes.
You can start collecting protected area passport stamps from any national or regional park visitor center. Almost all the visitor centers of the protected areas have interesting expositions that invite you to get to know the values of our country's state parks, plan a route and then travel to nature. You can find out more about our region's national and regional parks and plan interesting routes on the website - saugoma.lt
You can get your Protected Areas passport stamped at national and regional park visitor centers (also open on Saturdays) or at the outdoor entrances.
Travel through the protected areas, discovering the most valuable places of our region!
