Today, at the Expo 2020 exhibition in Dubai, the delegation of protected areas presents the values ​​and visitation opportunities of Lithuanian national and regional parks and reserves. Various thematic presentations take place regularly in the Lithuanian pavilion, so this day is dedicated to the protected areas of our country.

Green Lithuania, with its unique landscapes, unique biodiversity, ancient trees and other valuable natural and cultural heritage sites, can really interest Expo 2020 guests. New videos about the protected areas of our country, a new website - saugoma.lt, which is aimed at visitors who care about natural values, various quizzes and games, the latest publications about national and regional parks, reserves and reserves will be presented at the Lithuanian pavilion of Expo 2020 .

The delegation includes representatives of the State Service for Protected Areas under the Ministry of Environment, national parks and some regional park directorates.

The Expo 2020 exhibition in Dubai is halfway through: the exhibition, which started in the autumn, will last for half a year. Even before the pandemic, the exhibition stands are expected to be visited by 25 million people. guests.

EXPO exhibitions have been held worldwide for 170 years. Expo 2020 in Dubai has been postponed for a year, but neither its theme ("Connecting the World, Building the Future") nor the previously planned number of participants (192 countries) has changed.

The concept of the Lithuanian pavilion aims to present Lithuania as a modern and open country for cooperation, highlighting the country's sustainable development. In the Lithuanian pavilion, visitors are greeted by a cozy wooden structure decorated with traditional shutters in natural colors, and a modern solar power plant is installed on the building.

World exhibitions are now held every five years and last for six months, with the participation of most countries in the world. Lithuania has been officially participating in EXPO exhibitions since 1937. In eight of them, the presentation of Lithuania was organized by the Ministry of Environment, so institutions subordinate to the Ministry of Environment also participate in the exhibitions.
