20 places! Visit Protected Areas!
As spring approaches and the 20th anniversary of Lithuania's accession to the European Union is approaching, the State Service of Protected Areas invites you to visit protected areas.
We have selected 20 exceptional values and places, organized and adapted for visiting with the funds of the European Union, and we invite you to visit them all this year.
Lithuania's national and regional parks, nature reserves and some reserves can be easily and comprehensively explored. There are 38 visitor centers with interactive expositions, 9 nature schools where you can learn about nature from nature through various educations and during longer stays.
Educational trails, outdoor exhibitions allow you to get to know the protected values, and at the same time regulate the flow of tourists, so as not to cause damage to sensitive areas from a natural point of view. The 20 observation towers not only stand out for their architecture, but also allow you to view the unique landscapes of Lithuania. Travelers' choice and recommendations to discover the protected territories of Lithuania are the greatest appreciation of our work. We are glad that the projects implemented with the funds of the European Union provide opportunities to get to know the wonderful nature and culture of Lithuania.
In Lithuania we have 5 national and 30 regional parks. Almost all of them have visitor centers with interesting expositions, where you can find out - what is protected and why, what is worth seeing in nature. We invite you to visit them before starting a tour of the protected areas.
