EXCLUSIVE VALUE OF THE REGIONAL PARK

A distinctive and rich with lakes part of the Švenčionys upland that divides two water basins. Characteristic features inclu de long undulating tunnel valleys and ridges, deep hollows and high hills. The high-rising Čiūlėnai ridge with the highest Nevaišiai hill. The well-known iron-rich Lino verdenė spring. Hoopoe is the symbol of the regional park. The lakes, hills, mound or sacred places laced with legends and myths; village complexes that are unique from the ethno-cultural perspec tive – Didžiasalis, Aidukai, Aučynai, Kančioginas, Kulniškės. New discovery – the Kačėniškės mound leaning towards the Mergežeris and surrounded by wetland. In this regional park, you can still hear traditional Lithuanian songs sutartinės – UNESCO non-material cultural heritage.
