EXCLUSIVE VALUE OF THE REGIONAL PARK

The abrasional shoreline with the Great and Small coastal escarpments, coastal boulders, coastline dune belt. Among the protected sites are the land-based landscape of the Lithuanian coastline and open equatoria of the Baltic Sea, natural coastline dunes. Nesting sites of the Sea Eagle (Ha liaeetus albicilla). Bird migration route along the coastline where 10,000 birds gather to spend winters. Ship rescue station dating back to the 19th century. The old fishery villa ge of Karklė which used to strech along the coastline for as much as 11 km. Unique underwater cultural heritage. Old business still practised – amber collection using skimmers.
