EXCLUSIVE VALUE OF THE REGIONAL PARK
The unique landscape of a river valley which crosses the upland formed by the last glacier. The Neris River makes its largest loops here and is rich with exposures, con glomerates, stones, mounds, single-street villages and small churches. The largest in Lithuania oak forest in Dūkštos is of exclusive value. The park is abundant with the values of the live nature – Glis glis, Ciconia nigra, the rarest in Lithuania Neotinea ustulata, and the butter fly Maculinea alcon. The most important value of cultural heritage – the restored Karmazinai barrows. Still living the tradition of making Easter palms.
