EXCLUSIVE VALUE OF THE REGIONAL PARK

Unique landscape of the largest Lithuanian river (Nemunas) delta with the system of old river bed lakes and channels. Unique lake of Krokų Lanka, Kniaupas Bay, deltoid rivers, Rus nė island with the lowest point in the country, and the flooded grassland of the lower section of the Nenumas River. Here one can find the largest population of the globally endangered Acrocephalus paludicola with the Aukštumala raised bog as the cradle of wetland science. It is an important territory for bird migration. The developed unique system of polder canals as well as unique cultural heritage: Minija vilage which is also called the Lithuanian Venice, Ventė and Uostadvaris lighthou ses, Skirvytėlė vilage, Rusnė town. The everyday life is different here, especially during floods.
