REPAIR WORK HAS BEGUN ON THE PLYNOJI SWAMP COGNITIVE TRAIL

Repair work has begun on the Plynoji Swamp Cognitive Trail in Pagramantis Regional Park. A 500-meter-long loop will be added to the trail. Thus, nature lovers will be able to get to know the values ​​of the unique swamp in more detail.

The Directorate of Pagramantis Regional Park allocated about 1,500 euros for repair works from its own funds (accumulated from visitors' tickets and organized excursions), the remaining 8,000 euros were allocated by Tauragė District Municipality through a special environmental protection support program. By the way, anyone can contribute to the repair works of the Plynoji Swamp Cognitive Trail by purchasing a visitor's ticket.

The Plynosios Cognitive Trail was built back in 2003 in order to acquaint visitors with the Plynoji Telmological Reserve. The length of the trail is 1.6 km. At the end of the trail there is a tower from which you can see the whole upland swamp. It is rich in rare species of plants and animals. There are 2 types sundews: round-leaved and long-leaved. Lives European golden plover, black grouse.

At the edges of the swamp you can find sphagnum moss growing. In the center of swamp cranberry, various sphagnales moss, cottongrass, black crowberries, heather, round-leaved sundews, bog blueberry and one of red listed species - tufted clubrush.

On 1st of November the works are scheduled to be completed so visitors will be able to visit the area of exceptional beauty again.
